ShowCal Website Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 29, 2026 · Effective: June 27, 2026

This policy explains how the ShowCal website processes information. It applies to the website only, not the ShowCal mobile app, which is governed by a separate privacy policy.

1. Operator and Scope

The website is operated by BangHua Yang (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies when you visit or use `showcal.tv`. You can browse without creating an account.

For privacy questions or requests, email thinkofuture@foxmail.com.

2. Information We Process

Depending on your consent choices, we may process:

  • randomly generated anonymous session and device identifiers;
  • access time, page path, page category, interface language, page title, and referrer;
  • page views, button clicks, searches, modal events, scroll depth, and web performance events;
  • UTM campaign parameters and general traffic source;
  • User-Agent and approximate country or region from Cloudflare request headers; full IP addresses are used transiently in memory for rate limiting and are not written to the first-party analytics database;
  • ad requests, impressions, clicks, and advertising-related device or browsing information.

Anonymous identifiers do not contain your name or email, but may qualify as online identifiers or personal information under some laws. The website does not currently ask for identity documents, payment details, or other sensitive personal information.

3. Cookies and Browser Storage

  • showcal_cookie_consent remembers your consent choice;
  • showcal_theme remembers light or dark theme preference;
  • showcal_analytics_session stores an anonymous session identifier;
  • showcal_analytics_device_id recognizes a returning browser;
  • Google Analytics and Google AdSense may use cookies or identifiers where enabled and after required consent.

You can change your choice through “Cookie settings” in the footer or clear browser storage. Declining optional technologies does not prevent basic browsing and disables first-party analytics, analytics cookies, and personalized advertising. Non-personalized ads may still appear, and Google tags may send limited cookieless signals under Advanced Consent Mode.

4. Purposes

  • provide, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the website;
  • measure traffic, page performance, and navigation patterns;
  • improve search, content organization, performance, and user experience;
  • measure use of features such as App download links;
  • detect abuse, attacks, fraud, and technical failures;
  • display, measure, and optimize ads through Google AdSense;
  • comply with applicable laws, regulations, and platform policies.

We do not use website analytics to directly identify you, and we do not sell your personal information.

5. Third-Party Services

Cloudflare: provides Pages hosting, CDN, security, and D1 database services and may process IP addresses, request headers, security logs, and analytics data stored in D1.

Google AdSense: displays advertising. Google and advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers to deliver, limit, measure, and personalize ads and detect fraud. See How Google uses data from partner sites and Google advertising technologies. Manage personalized ads in Google Ads Settings.

Google Analytics: if enabled and after required consent, measures website usage and may process device, browser, page visit, referrer, and approximate location information. Before consent or after a decline, Google tags may still send limited signals without analytics or advertising cookies under Advanced Consent Mode for aggregate measurement and modeling.

TMDB: provides television show, cast, image, and schedule information. TMDB or its content delivery services may receive ordinary network request information. This website uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

App stores: App download links route to the Apple App Store or Google Play depending on the device. Once you leave our website, the relevant store processes information under its own policy.

6. Consent and Legal Bases

Where required, we request consent before enabling optional analytics, advertising cookies, or personalized advertising. The site uses Google Advanced Consent Mode: Google tags may load with consent set to `denied` and send limited cookieless signals, while related storage and personalization are enabled only after consent. You may withdraw consent through Cookie settings at any time; withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing.

Necessary security, diagnostics, and service delivery may rely on performance of a service, legitimate interests, or legal obligations, depending on applicable law. For EEA, UK, and Swiss visitors, we will use an appropriate consent mechanism as required by Google and applicable law.

7. Sharing and International Processing

We share information only as needed with providers such as Cloudflare, Google, and TMDB for hosting, analytics, advertising, content, and security, or where required by law, needed to protect legitimate rights, or connected to a business reorganization.

These providers may process information outside your country or region. We select providers with appropriate safeguards and take measures required by applicable law.

8. Retention

  • consent and theme preferences: until you clear browser data or change the setting;
  • anonymous session identifier: generally until the browser session ends;
  • anonymous device identifier: until you clear browser local storage;
  • first-party raw analytics events, sessions, and User-Agent: up to 90 days; full IP addresses are not stored in the first-party analytics database;
  • aggregated statistics without online identifiers: may be retained longer for trend analysis;
  • third-party data: according to provider policies and our account settings.

After the applicable period, we delete or anonymize information unless longer retention is legally required.

9. Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, permission separation, rate limiting, and provider security capabilities. No internet transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable measures appropriate to the risks.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, withdraw consent, request portability, or complain to a regulator. Contact thinkofuture@foxmail.com. We may verify your identity to prevent unauthorized access or deletion.

11. Children

The website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information submitted directly by children. Contact us if you believe a child provided information without appropriate consent.

12. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy as our business, technology, laws, or providers change. We will post the revised version here with an updated date and provide additional notice or request consent again where appropriate.
